Workshops
Workshops extend Souvenir Sport’s material practice into physical experience. They provide access to materials, tools and construction methods associated with regional material culture and contemporary craft. Participants produce small functional objects or engage in guided material and archive-based sessions, with a focus on clarity, durability and material understanding.
Workshops take place at Souvenir Sport, Stüssihofstatt 7.
Custom Sessions
Custom sessions can be developed in response to specific materials, research interests or exhibition contexts. Formats include object-based workshops, guided material studies and archive-based sessions, and may be adapted for cultural institutions, brands, schools or independent groups.
Sessions take place at Souvenir Sport or at partner locations and require advance coordination.

Workshop 01
Key Holders and Leather Charms
in collaboration with Appenzeller Gurt
This introductory workshop focuses on small-scale leather objects. Participants assemble personal charms or key holders from pre-cut vegetable-tanned leather components and solid brass ornaments depicting classic Appenzell motifs.
The process introduces fundamental techniques including punching, setting, fastening and finishing. The leather patch can be attached to a key ring or ball chain, allowing the object to function either as a key holder or as an attachment to bags, garments or equipment.
Leather components are made from regionally sourced vegetable-tanned leather by Regionales Leder and fitted with original Appenzell ornaments using traditional assembly methods.
No prior experience is required.
